The Geckollect-PO LED based optical pulse transmitter can read the consumption of properly designed (electric) meters and make it available in the form of a pulse signal.
The device implements a so-called low-frequency transmitter, which behaves like a pressed switch after the amount of consumption determined by the meter, thereby indicating to the read out device that consumption has occurred on the meter.
The Geckollect-PO can only be used indoors, shielded from direct light. The device must be glued above the flashing LED, making sure that the hole on the head of the device is exactly above the flashing LED.
When the LED light pulse arrives, the red and black terminals switch from their previously open state to closed, emitting a pulse signal.
The device has a pull-up resistor. The polarity must be observed when connecting.
According to the meter's data sheet, the pulse width and resolution are fixed and unchangeable.
The signal cable is not shielded, so it is worth routing it away from high-current cables, in order to avoid interference. Direct light must be avoided for the sensor during operation, because strong light can interfere with optical pulse collection. Therefore, it should only be used in a dark or well-shaded place.

Violation of these limits may cause irreparable damage to the device.
The device is shipped in the most sensitive condition possible. In case of a false signal, the sensitivity can be adjusted with a small screwdriver.

Geometric sizes are without the cable. The length of the cable may very a few percent.

After the product has been cut into pieces or in a defective state, it is not municipal waste, it is considered electronic waste, its handling must be carried out in accordance with the applicable legislation.
